Background
Viorel Ciobanu is an of counsel attorney at Ciobanu Law, P.C. He focuses his practice on international law, immigration, civil rights, civil litigation, business and commercial litigation, as well as personal injury.
Viorel Ciobanu majored in international business and economics and graduated with highest distinction. Prior to law school, Viorel was a consultant for an European company and completed the ICLEO Fellow certification at the Indiana University School of Law–Indianapolis. He received his law degree from Robert H. McKinney School of Law, where he was the recipient of the Eli Lilly Law Alumni Scholarship and Robert S. Smith Memorial Scholarship and was a member of the Dean’s Tutorial Society. Viorel worked at the Indiana Attorney General’s Office in the Medicaid Fraud Control Unit; he also drafted appellate judicial opinions and prepared legal memoranda for the Motions Panel as a law clerk for Chief Judge of the Indiana Court of Appeals Margret Robb.
After law school, Viorel was accepted into the inaugural class of pro bono clerks of the Heartland Pro Bono Council, Inc. Viorel served as the 2016-2017 Vice Chair of the American Bar Association YLD International Division, and he was chosen as a 2016-2019 Associate Member of the Indianapolis American Inn of Court.
Viorel is admitted to practice in the State of Indiana and before the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Indiana.
Viorel is fluent in French, Romanian, and Russian and is available for co-counsel opportunities where his abilities, including language and cultural skills, can be useful.
